Occasion - 1723 - EDP
I tried the original Overture at a Xerjoff® stand a few months ago and ordered this the next day, as the original really stood out among the many scents I tried that day. Sadly the PPs version is missing that special something, in the bottle I have. I have linked the Mags Frags review below, which is very positive and refers to semi-challenging nuances, which are completely missing in my bottle. Instead I find this one reminiscent of the original, but I am just left with an overall scent profile which reminds me of expensive talcum powder, which I don’t personally want to smell of, it’s been retired to be a room spray.
This was one of the last EDP’s I bought from PP, as I honestly feel the 1-3 months you can wait for a scent to really fill out and develop makes the Extracts 100% worth the extra cost. From the packaging to the scent quality, on the day of delivery, makes them a no-brainer.
Scent - 1 / 5
Performance - 3 / 5
I wanted to base my reviews on more than just an unmeasured opinion, so I have used this method to rate all of my purchases at week 1 (under 7 days after delivery) and after week 4 (generally mentioned ‘maceration’ time). I always spray 2x each side in the clavicle, 1x behind each ear and the back of my neck, never on clothes.
With a total score of 10 equally split between smell and performance.
Smell: 0-5
This is obviously just my own taste
Performance: 0-5
Checked at 1, 2, 3, 5 & 9 hrs)
I can certainly say that, without exception, every scent has improved in performance between weeks 1 & 4 and by week 12 many have developed further with tobacco and other warm notes becoming much richer.
I hope this is helpful
