This is a very high-grade pure 100% oud oil. This type of consistency is very rare these days, in fact, the distiller wants this one back because he has a buyer who wants this type at any cost since the distiller is no longer doing this particular consistency as this one is quite thick. It is 100% pure with no additives or solvents. It's oil from the Assam region.
It's known as Maliki, Malik in the Arabic language is called King, and since this is the best and top of the top, it's called Maliki Oud.
It's natural and wild, these days due to a shortage of trees, most oud is cultivated, but this particular one is wild, naturally grown.
When the distillation takes place, the wood goes through a few rounds of distillation known as presses, this particular one is a 1st press, which is the highest grade you can get, the grade drops as the presses increase, so the 2nd press, and 3rd press won't be the same quality as the 1st press.
Distillation can take place in 2 ways, either on gas or on a wood fire, the traditional method is on a wood fire but makes the process very tedious and someone has to monitor this 24 hours a days, with gas fire its not as complicated, the end product is also very different, wood fire distillation is better quality.
Perfume Parlour has owned this batch for at least a couple of years, and the age of the tree was around 30 years.
