Lisbon Wood For Men - 1199

I own a vintage bottle of the original from way back in the pre-batch code era i.e. late 90s / early 2000s. This is very close to my bottle, scent profile is basically the same just lacks the richness, warmth and texture provided by the real ambergris in the OG. Smells high quality and is better than the modern formulation which, whilst pleasant, lacks the depth and richness I love in the vintage, PPs inspiration is closer to vintage than modern and I would purchase it over any batch of the original produced after 2017.

Classic barbershop fragrance.

Superb projection. Great longevity. Plenty of compliments.

I’ve managed to smell a bottle from really early 2000s and this is exactly how it smelt, batches after 2010 were lemon pledge heavy and lacked the original spice and warmth. pp have captured the original recipe.

I have the original which I ordered from Europe, sadly it was a 50ml and cost me an arm and a leg. About 20ml juice left so I got the 13ml from PP to test it out and it’s very similar. The OG is more animalistic and in your face, the PP version is more well rounded same scent profile / DNA. I will definitely order a bigger bottle from PP.

This is 80% there or maybe more. Unusually, the pp is not quite as projecting as the creed, but hey. It's £200 less! A very reasonable dupe.

I bought the EDP tester, as I always do to see if I would like it, I have never smelt the original but this is a great fragrance, and I will be adding it to my list for a larger bottle. I personally found that it projects well and I could still smell it on the back of my hands seven hours later, and the jumper that I was wearing I could smell it a couple days later still.

After 4 weeks or so with this fragrance, I'm enjoying it even more!
Have put away what little I have left of the O.G., this is now permanently in my blazer's breast pocket.
Still wrestling with it, getting to know all it's peculiarities and nuances.. seems to keep on giving. Quite potent, not sure if it'll improve with time, I'm already halfway through me bottle though, so perhaps a 'backup' to let stew yum yum. The little O.G I have has brewed like an elixir for what, 4 years now?!

Flipping good smell.

Not immediately springing for a higher concentration than the EDP. I reckon it's stronger than I think and have quietly been knocking out those in my vicinity. The extrait/extract version fills me with anticipation, fear and excitement though.

Long time fraghead so review may be on the conservative side! Pretty good emulation - seems to get some of the development, 3D-ness (opposed to flatness!) and clarity that is often missing from other 'inspired bys'. Side by side it expectedly doesn't have the HD, depth and clarity of the original. DefinitleIy misses the fulsome yumminess of the O.G - I guess emulating the ambergris is difficult. Opening is understandably off - settles in a few minutes though.
However, putting the O.G away for a week and only using this - its most of the way there! 7.5/10.
Tempted by the stronger concentrations :)

I have never smelt the original but this is a great fragrance. Heavy on cloves and cinamon for the first hour or so but mellows into a masculine woody scent after that. Will be buying more of this one.

Really nice fragrance that lasts a long time. I was not expecting it to be as nice as it was so it surpassed my expectations.

Almost clove-like opening, intense and spicy and lacking the lightness of the original. The drydown is identical. Another good job by PP.

More lemon than the real deal, but smells nice. Does not last long however.

Strong scent - dry down reminds me of Mulled Wine and Winter Berries

The smell is nice but its very light. Does not project as well as the others.

Perfect formal scent, love it! oil lasts all day too!
