Absolutely a must. It scratch the itchy for the OG. Highly recommend it.

I'd 90% similar to the OG! The opening is slightly different (almost too intense for my taste), after a few minutes it starts to settle down and dries down exactly just like the OG: Smelling them side by side on my wrists now, and can barely tell the difference. Great Job done by Perfume Parlour on this one and Genre Meeting (Jazz club)

It's a little less lasting and more watery and diluted scent than other dupes I have of this fragrance, although yes, the similarity to the original scent is 90%. Not the best dupe to purchase though. I purchased the Edp though, so maybe the elixir would be stronger, I don't know.

No experience with the original fragrance.
Smells like a sweet wood fire, like someone put out a campfire with a bucket of maple syrup. Very strong and a little overwhelming at first, lasts longer than all day. Eventually the smoke scent fades and you're left with this wonderful sweet, woody fragrance. I can't get enough of this.

Wasn't sure how this one would turn out, but was blown away by it. Really evocative wood smoke backed up with sweet spice. Definitely a winter fragrance for me, but something very warm and comforting about it. Have ordered 50ml EDP.

This really captures the same smoky sweetness of the original. The original is still better as it has more depth and perceivable notes than this, but it's an amazing substitute for the money.

I've bought both the EDP and the extract and the EDP's performance is plenty.

EDP Spray.
In the first 10 minutes, the smoky scent is quite intense but still pleasant. After that, it fades and becomes very similar to the OG. I have to say that, out of the box, it seemed quite weak, but after just six days, it already performs well. Will order it again.

Lovely scent and smells v similar. On a seperate note PP know that they are despatching bought items too late and i appreciate when they have a sale there's more orders but then plan for that please i waited well over a week to receive mine. Thank you

This perfume is absolutely wonderful. I love everything about it apart from one thing.
I spray it on and literally within 2 minutes it's gone. Not a single trace of it left on my neck or wrists. I was so disappointed. No sillage, no longevity - nothing.
I did consider buying it again but in the extract version but don't want to waste my money in case it's also weak. I guess I'll try to find a copy somewhere else :(

I haven't tried the OG. The hit from the first spray is quite bitter/smoke/wood...the dry down is to die for. It's very similar to Tom ford Sahara Noir original...I adore this

This is absolutely exceptional. You get a really strong smoky blast from the outset then for me, it settled down to a less smoky vanilla vibe it’s insane for the price, well done!

Smells amazing; good value for money and the longevity of this perfume is better than other more expensive brands.

I've found that when this is shaken or disturbed it can end up very smoky, too much so for my tastes.
Let it rest for a few weeks and it changes to more of that sweet gourmand, chocolatey-nutty tone. Very nice! Never tried the original so cannot speak to it's accuracy.

Tested it in house and it smelled like you've been burning logs on the stove and handled them. Has this very very smoky charcoal smell. I wouldn't say it's bad but you are for sure getting that smokey fireplace with no extras. I couldn't smell the orange blossom, maybe cause it's overpowered by the woody smoky smell. Overall get this if you want to smell like you've been helping your grandparents in the countryside warm up their home with old logs. :)

I haven't smelled the original. So I don't know how close it is to the original. But I spent a decade living in a Northern country. My walks home in the autumn and winter evenings were filled with the sweet, nutty, slightly vanilla. slightly honeyed scent of roast chestnuts being sold at every corner, and the smokey, woody scent of the chestnut sellers' fires. The smell of cloves, soft cinnamon, mixed spice and sugar was coming from every bakery and every kitchen. On Sunday morning the churches were filled with the sweet spicy, resinous, woody, smokey notes of incense that contained cloves, cinnamon, pepper, frankincence and myrrh. PP have created all those scents and blended them together to create Wood Fire. But why would anyone want to smell like roast chestnuts, wood smoke and incense? Actually, the perfume is so skilfully blended that it is a strong but comforting, relaxing scent to wear. On a cold, windy, dreary winter's morning in London I put just a little on my scarf. A little goes a long way. I find that this delicious scent helps me face the cold. I sometimes get compliments from other passengers on the Tube. It's not an office scent. So when I get to the office I put my scarf away and spritz a little of one of PP's many wonderful office appropriate scents. I hope that PP will someday create a category of several pages of office appropriate scents for women and men. That doesn't mean boring or bland. My favourite, PP's scent similar to Dior's La Colle Noire is out of stock at the moment. But I hope they will bring it back soon.

Identical to the original, long lasting, just..perfect!

I’m reviewing this straight out of the box so no time to macerate.. tbh smells a bit like TCP on the opening for the first few minutes, but after that the dry down is lovely.. a warm cosy scent that’s so comforting. I’ve not tried the original but this is really well done… log burner, dim lights and wood fire 1874…. Perfect!

Paid $30 for shipping and not only did the package come 2 weeks late and miss Christmas but the shipping company didn't even bother delivering it to my place (major city), instead made me bus 40 minutes to pick it up. Was looking forward to this package but won't bother with this again as it was too much trouble and $$

It's a smell that's not for everyone but it's great and smells like the original

It's unique, I love this fragrance By the Fireplace Maison Martin Margiela! It's a wintery scent, warm, cozy, reminds me of the fireplace at Christmas. Very good longevity on skin, on clothes it is felt the next day.
