Great take on this DNA, very pleased with longevity, performance and accuracy.

This smells like Rory wearing his navy blazer in Mayfair on November 18th. He's just read a paper copy of The Independent and is waiting for his gin & tonic, which he paid for using his British Airways American Express card. His girlfriend Maya from Austria will shortly join him wearing a satin dress after a long week being a criminal lawyer, annoyed at her boss Mark.

Mysterious, long lasting, unique. Not entirely the original but who cares if it's better.

Great scent, had to buy twice.

This is amazing . Has that unmistakable Tom Ford DNA. Please Perfume Parlour ….. make a longer lasting version of this

Midnight Lacquer - 2192

I smelt the original at the TF store and though it was an archetypal TF private line smoky scent. It was like someone had taken the spices out of Ebene Fume and just left the darkness and the smoke, I loved it! I ordered PP's extract the minute it was available.

When I first smelt it it felt the scent was peppery where the original had been more smoky. I re-smelt the original recently and it confirmed my first impression had been bang on. The scents are certainly in the same space but the original just has that Givaudan captive magic that PP aren't meant to be able to replicate and, in all fairness, they can't. The smoke here is replaced with a peppery-ness that fills the space but doesn't quite get you all the way.

PPs version is very nice on it own and had my friend asking me what I was wearing because he liked it so much. If you think you're paying £8 for a perfect copy of scents like this, you need to think again. This rendition is fantastic value and will still have you smelling great. Just ask my friend.

I wanted to base my reviews on more than just an unmeasured opinion, so I have used this method to rate all of my purchases at week 1 (under 7 days after delivery) and after week 4 (generally mentioned ‘maceration’ time). I always spray 2x each side in the clavicle, 1x behind each ear and the back of my neck, never on clothes.

With a total score of 10 equally split between smell and performance.

This is obviously just my own taste

Checked at 1, 2, 3, 5 & 9 hrs)

I can certainly say that, without exception, every scent has improved in performance between weeks 1 & 4 and by week 12 many have developed further with tobacco and other warm notes becoming much richer.

Strange but good scent!

A dark and mysterious perfume that at times disappoints me and at other times I like. an original smell of incense and wood, yes, but it doesn't kill. Longevity is not a beast. In general it falls short, not like this one, 2180

I don't really like it but that is personal I was allready expecting something wierd, the performance is not also great .

I went in blind as I love an out there TF and this is out there. I'm not sure if I like it just yet but it smells like a solid fragrance in terms of how it's made, so if you ink and pepper are notes you might wanna test out go for it, just be warned it's different to the usual!

Not a huge fan of this one

This is a really interesting scent, it's inky, sweet, balsamic, piney. Quite a dark mysterious scent but quickly becoming my new favorite. I smelled the original TF in a shop the other week and whilst I've not compared these side by side only tested the TF on a test strip, they are very similar from memory, maybe the PP version is a touch sweeter (which I actually prefer) but hard to tell, would need to test side by side. By itself though, it's a lovely fragrance, definitely recommend.
