I was a huge fan of the original (Shalimar parfum initial). Unfortunately it was discontinued, and I never found anything that came close or suited me. And now I tried this very good dupe, and I am so happy I did! There is nothing like this scent, and Inwill definitely order again! Thank you so much ❤️

I am a huge fan of the original PI and am lucky enough to still have a (cherished) bottle of it. This dupe is instantly recognisable as having a very similar DNA. It is not the same, however. The oil is strong, heady even, but the dry down and wear is perfect. Soft, powdery and unmistakable. It’s like PI’s sister who is a bit more bolshy. If you want the experience but have run out, this is a very very close second.

Years ago I had a bottle of the original PI and loved it. Then it was discontinued! This copy, once it had dried down, took me straight back to memories of this scent’s beautiful powderiness. Longevity is incredible … lasted all day. I will definitely reorder.

Just tested the oil side by side with my cherished original.
After a few minutes it was impossible to tell them apart.
L'initial, Guerlain's reintroduction of PI is utterly gorgeous but the vetiver basenotes have been replaced by almond (I think) so now the pp version smells more chocolate-like in drydown and nearer the original.
Shalimar parfum initial may be discontinued but it lives on in Garden of Love.

this smells nothing like perfume, forget about which one. (maybe hospital air freshener?) this has the opposite effect on your state of mind to what wearing your favorite perfume does.

I THINK I HAVE A CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY. I WAS THINKING ALL THIS TIME THE OIL I HAD WAS SPI BUT I WAS WRONG UNLESS THE FORMULA HAS DRASTICALLY CHANGED. TOO BAD I CAN'T IDENTIFY THE OIL DUE TO THE LABEL COMING OFF AND THE WORDS SMUDGING BECAUSE I'D LOVE TO HAVE WHATEVER IT IS IN THE SPRAY FORM.

I just bought a bottle of Shalimar P.I from eBay and this is very similar, but with better longevity on my skin. Top notes are slightly more green and fruity, but it soon settles into a very convincing version.
