French Beauty For Women - 0897

I used the original years ago & then it was discontinued in Britain so I'd stock up when I visited Paris. My favourite era is the 1930s which was so elegant & sophisticated & this is 1933 so younger people will think it's old fashioned but isn't it's from an time when top perfumiers created these wonderful perfumes.

Only one word..........Amazing! I purchased this one over a year ago but for some reason my review did not register.

Based on the spray. I smelt something really lovely for about five minutes. Then nothing. Never tried the original so maybe its supposed to be quite subtle. Maybe I should have got the oil

I find this perfume comforting and there is something inherently spiritual and familiar about it. The incense is quite prominent on my skin...this is not the kind of perfume I would have normally gone for...I am definitely intrigued by this solemn beauty

Love how this fragrance changes and deepens but just as I think it can't get better it disappears. A good excuse to re-apply!

I agree with all the other positive comments! And yes, definitely a woman's scent and a good old scent from the past, when perfume had quality and class. It's beautiful. Don't need much and lasts well.

A beautiful, sensual embrace. Easy to apply generously with the 10ml rollerball - for a rich and sexy aura. More wearable than the original and perfect for cold winter nights!

I have tried the original - this is just as lovely and lasts much longer.

A rich and rounded fragrance, virtually identical to the original. Even if it weren't, it is a pleasure to be enveloped in it! I am very pleased to have found this and will order more in due course.

I haven't tried the Guerlain original, but this is beautiful; deep, dark and expensive-smelling, a perfume for a woman, not a girl. It smells dated, but only because now not even the great perfume houses seem willing to produce anything of the style and quality they were known for in their heyday. Try it if you are bored with sugared fruit and patchouli !

Actually nicer than the original, warmer and sweeter really lovely perfume.

Warming on cold daya nd smells expensive and slightly austere.
