Got a sample from phenhaligons this week and really liked it. Went to the perfum parlour store to compare. Ther PP version opens a lot sweeter where as the og is a lot spicer. At first I couldnt see how the PP version could replicate the og.....but after 10 mins it developed into a strong spicy fragrence super close to the og. Imo the og has an amazing bottle, a much more pleasant opening but the PP version after 10 mins develops into a much stronger, slightly sweeter interpretation of the og. I am wearing them both on each arm and the pp is still projecting and the og i can barely smell. Very happy with this purchase

This blew me away, as I tested PPs stunning rendition of this scent side by side with the OG. To me these are as close as I could ever reasonably hope a dupe could be and the PP version is going strong as the OG has now become a skin scent.

I think it’s Penhaligon’s version of a blue scent. Strong, fresh and cardamon heavy, it's like a wall of scent enveloping you. It's a love for me!

They do love to spice things up. It’s what I like most about Penhaligon’s. But sadly for them this dupe renders the OG redundant.

I wanted to base my reviews on more than just an unmeasured opinion, so I have used this method to rate all of my purchases at week 1 (under 7 days after delivery) and after week 4 (generally mentioned ‘maceration’ time). I always spray 2x each side in the clavicle, 1x behind each ear and the back of my neck, never on clothes.

With a total score of 10 equally split between smell and performance.

Smell: 0-5
This is obviously just my own taste

Performance: 0-5
Checked at 1, 2, 3, 5 & 9 hrs)

I can certainly say that, without exception, every scent has improved in performance between weeks 1 & 4 and by week 12 many have developed further with tobacco and other warm notes becoming much richer.

Going to give this a 5star. This lasted a lot longer then I expected on my skin and longer on my clothes. The smell is a little rich for me, but if you like spicy, woody notes. I'd highly recommend this.

The original from Penhaligons is a favourite, but it just fails to last. Bought the extrait and it has not disappointed, virtually identical but if anything better than the original. Genuinely delighted with the purchase. Bought a load of samples of other scents to try and looking forward to giving them a go.

Need to let this one sit for awhile i think as its a smell ill need to get use to.

This is hands down one of the most luxurious and rich smelling perfumes out there! I love this probably more than anything else. Long lasting, projects brilliantly and very close to the OG. 5 stars. 60ml extract
Needs a restock

I had this from PP before smelling the original. I literally couldn't tell the difference, it's such a perfect match. I would go for the extract for longevity... Well done PP

I bought this blind for my husband, I’ve never tried the OG so I can’t compare. However, this scent is divine and my all time favourite, I even wear it myself sometimes. Long lasting and stunning.

The fragrance that I bought was better than I thought. Not only was the smell potent but it was also long lasting. I am amazed by the longevity and will definitely purchase from this store again.

In terms of performance in my opinion this is the best PP of Penhaligons, the Rumkale has terrible performance for example. If you have experienced that then give this a go, isn't as punchy as Rumkale but it does have a similar profile in a more relaxing way. I keep going to it out of my collection this time of year. Well done PP!

I tried the 15mL extract. Nice fragrance but I find it somewhat close to Rumkale. It is a bit harsher than Rumkale and less projecting. Longevity could be better too.

Having recently visited a Penhaligon's store I tried The Blazing Mr Sam and it was love a first sniff for me an absolutely stunning scent. The £220 price mark meant I was going to have to save and get some this Christmas. Perfume Parlour to the rescue £26 for the 50ml Extract and it smells exactly the same. I'm shocked that they have nailed it so well as it's quite a complex DNA profile. Massive compliment puller as well, people will love this on you. Safe blind buy. More for the Autumn Winter months and possibly early spring.

Not what I was expecting from the note breakdown and I don’t think I’d wear it

Bought a diffuser and it’s absolutely fantastic. Set up in the front room, can smell it throughout the whole house.

It smells better then the actual mr sam and also last way longer

I would say that this perfume is great. In my opinion, it is very close to the original.
